Sewer Pipe Replacement in Atlanta, GA,
and Surrounding Areas

Sewer pipe replacements are a large undertaking for the residents and business owners that are getting the work done to their properties. Thankfully, the industry has advanced immensely over the years to provide us with better options for our services. Trenchless technologies provide your trusted pipe lining company, North Georgia Inliners with the ability to perform even the biggest tasks, such as total replacements, with minimally invasive methods. With no digging involved, trenchless solutions allow us to perform the repairs inside the pipes and leave properties the way they were when we arrived, but with a fixed and fully-functioning sewer system.

Even major sewer repair or replacements still can benefit from trenchless methods, which keep the service simple and provide the best solution for each different situation that we face. Two examples are our trenchless pipe lining and pipe bursting services, both trenchless and both producing great results.

In need of sewer pipe replacement in Atlanta, GA, and surrounding areas? North Georgia Inliners is the name to trust! We are proud to offer our services to the following locations:

Pipe Lining

Main sewer line replacement can be done with a relining of the old pipes that are already in place. If the pipes are in good enough condition, we are able to reline them with a durable, epoxy liner. The first step after cleaning and inspection is to cut a felt tube that fits perfectly to the portion of the pipe being replaced or the entire pipe system’s length if needed. We use our specialized machine to push the epoxy-coated tube throughout the system. Once in place, we then inflate it and steam it to have it cure to the pipe that is already in place. As this happens, it will cool and harden to the old pipe’s interior, forming a new pipe within it. This is called a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining process. That section or system is now ready to go for decades to come. With proper maintenance such as routine cleanings, it can last as many as 50 plus years.

Pipe Bursting

Sometimes, your sewer system will have weak spots that need to be treated independently and you can avoid a total replacement with such fixes. One of the ways to perform sectional replacements and repairs is with sewer pipe bursting. This is exactly what it sounds like - the bursting of a section of pipe to replace it with a new pipe. This trenchless pipe replacement process uses a drill head that plows through the section and bursts the pipes as it goes. As the pipe is cracked into pieces by the drill, the pieces are pushed into the surrounding soil. While this is happening and as the drill passes through, the machine is also pulling in a new segment of pipe to replace the old pipe. When the process is completed and the new pipe is in place, we seal the new portions to the old pipes, leaving you with a brand new line.

Signs You Need Pipe Replacement or Repair

Unfortunately, no sewer line lasts forever. Luckily, our seasoned pipe pros can repair or replace sewer lines in an efficient and cost-effective way. Signs suggesting it's time to call a trenchless contractor about either sewer pipe replacement or repair include:

  • Water pooling above where sewer lines are buried
  • Recurring or lingering sewer odors
  • Foundation or slab damage
  • Frequent sewage backups or drain issues

A Look at the Replacement Process

One option with sewer pipe replacement is pipe bursting. It's done with special equipment that breaks up the damaged sewer line without actually removing it. As the old pipe is broken apart into tiny pieces, a new sewer line is inserted behind it. The above-ground surface is left intact. The replacement may also be done with traditional methods. In this case, the damaged sewer line is exposed and removed so a new sewer line can be put into place.

Sewer Pipe Replacement FAQs

It depends on the method of replacement used and the extent of the work involved. We'll gladly give you a more accurate project timeframe estimate after evaluating your sewer lines and discussing your options.

Sewer pipe replacement is worth considering if there's extensive damage or if the pipe is made of a material like cast iron that's susceptible to corrosion.

For both traditional and trenchless sewer pipe replacement, it's typically possible to install a larger sewer line if this is what's needed.

If the work area is limited, we may recommend trenchless sewer pipe replacement since less equipment is needed for the job.

The best way to reduce the need for sewer pipe replacement is to have your sewer lines regularly inspected. If problems are detected early, it's often possible to make repairs instead.
