Position Summary
The Vacuum Truck Helper assists the Vac Truck Operator with hydro excavation, sewer cleaning, storm drain maintenance, and other utility support services. This position is responsible for supporting safe and efficient job site operations, handling equipment, and ensuring projects are completed according to company safety standards and client expectations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and willing to work in physically demanding environments.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist the Vac Truck Operator with hydro excavation and vacuum truck operations.
- Set up and break down job sites, including traffic control and safety equipment.
- Handle vacuum hoses & tubes, water lines, and related tools during operations.
- Perform sewer and storm drain cleaning and debris removal.
- Perform confined space entry operations in compliance with safety standards.
- Conduct pre- and post-job equipment checks and assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of the truck and tools.
- Maintain clear communication with crew members and supervisors.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Keep job sites clean and organized.
- Perform other job duties as assigned
Qualifications / Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior construction, utility, or labor experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces when required.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs. regularly.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel as needed.
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain CDL with Tanker endorsement within 6 months.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and Background.

- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and climbing.
- Exposure to loud environments, dirt, water, and wastewater conditions.
- Ability to work around heavy equipment and moving vehicles safely.
