Position Summary:
The CCTV Operator is responsible for performing internal inspections of sanitary sewer and stormwater pipelines using closed-circuit television (CCTV) equipment. This position plays a critical role in identifying structural defects, blockages, inflow and infiltration, and other conditions affecting underground infrastructure. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, safety-driven, and capable of working independently in the field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain CCTV inspection equipment, robotic crawlers, and transport vehicles.
- Perform pipeline inspections in accordance with NASSCO PACP, MACP, and LACP standards.
- Accurately code and document pipeline defects using inspection software.
- Conduct pre-cleaning coordination with jet/vac crews when necessary.
- Set up traffic control and ensure compliance with OSHA and confined space regulations.
- Review and submit detailed inspection reports, videos, and logs.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of camera systems and equipment.
- Assist with locating sewer lines and manholes as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to acquire CDL class A with tanker endorsement
- Successfully pass Background check and Driving Record
- NASSCO PACP certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 2+ years of sewer inspection, utility, or related field experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of municipal sewer systems and rehabilitation methods.
- Experience with GIS mapping and inspection software systems.
- Strong attention to detail and technical reporting skills.
Work Environment:
Field-based position requiring travel to various job sites. Exposure to confined spaces, wastewater environments, traffic conditions, and heavy equipment operations.
